What's new

StudyFlow is in public beta. Everything we ship shows up here, newest first — open any item to read what it changes.

  1. Free chat, better generations, public beta

    Latest

    v0.9.0 · August 19, 2026

    • Chat is now free — 50 messages a day, no credits.

Asking questions about your material no longer costs anything. Credits are only spent on generations (summaries, flashcards, tests and grading). The 50-message allowance resets every day at midnight UTC, and the ring above the chat box shows how much of it is left.

    • Chat got a proper interface.

Answers are formatted with headings, lists, tables and code blocks, every message can be copied, questions can be edited and re-asked, answers can be regenerated, and a failed answer can be retried without retyping anything. Scrolling up to re-read no longer drags you back to the bottom.

    • Summaries are readable, not a wall of text.

Generated summaries now render with real structure: section headings, spacing, bullet and numbered lists, tables and highlighted takeaways, in both light and dark mode.

    • Flashcard decks are drillable instead of enormous.

Deck size is scaled to how much material you gave us, and answers are held to a single short line — the fact you have to recall, not a paragraph lifted out of your notes. Cards that ramble, repeat or restate the question are rejected before the deck reaches you.

    • Summaries and flashcards are checked before you see them.

Every generation is inspected for empty cards, duplicates and cut-off text. If it fails the check, it is generated again automatically rather than landing in your deck.

    • A failed generation always gives your credits back.

Credits are charged and refunded on our servers, so an error or a timeout can never leave you out of pocket, and the app tells you what went wrong.

    • New Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.

Both are rewritten to describe how the app actually works, including what happens to your notes and how to delete your account and data.

    • StudyFlow is in public beta.

The version is shown on the landing page, and every release from now on is listed on this page.

  2. Faster, cheaper, cleaner

    v0.8.0 · August 12, 2026

    • Better answers on exams and grading.

Generation and grading were re-tuned so harder work gets more effort and simple work gets less — exam questions and feedback improved, while short summaries got quicker.

    • Repeat generations on the same notes are instant and free.

Generating the same thing twice from unchanged notes returns the previous result immediately without spending credits.

    • Long documents are covered in full.

Material that used to be silently cut off is now processed in passes, so the end of a long PDF is represented in the output.

    • Notes can be read from images and lecture recordings.

Photographed pages, whiteboards and recorded audio can be turned into text you can study from and generate against.

    • The study page was decluttered.

Materials, generation options and extras moved into menus so the workspace stays focused on your notes and the output.

    • Credit packs repriced: 3x more credits for the same money.

Every pack now includes roughly three times the credits it did before, at the same price points.

  3. Your data, everywhere

    v0.7.0 · August 5, 2026

    • Calendar, templates, study time and timer settings follow your account.

These used to live only in the browser, so they vanished when you cleared your data and did not exist on your other devices. They are saved to your account now.

    • Credits are charged and refunded on the server.

A failed generation can no longer cost you credits, and the balance shown is always the one we hold.

    • Accessibility pass.

Keyboard focus, screen-reader labels, dialog behaviour and mobile navigation were all reworked to make the app usable without a mouse.

    • English, Spanish and French are fully translated.

Every page is translated in all three languages, and the language you pick is remembered on your account.
